How to Immigrate to the United States

I am interested in the relationship between the Dutch Afrikaners or white South Africans of English origin and the United States, not for any political reason but merely because I am researching my own genealogy. Were Afrikaners part of the great immigration influx of the late 1800s and early 1900s? If so, where did they settle? Are there any Afrikaner or South African communities in the States or were there ever?

i am a permanent resident of united states and my fiance is a canadian citizen.We are planning for her to move to united states and to get married . She is 18 and still not done highschool. Can she finish her highschool in the states? is there any law that would stop her from finishing her high school since she is from canada? and how soon can she get her legal residency status after we get married?
